Skaftafell is located 327km (203 miles) from Reykjavík. The nearest towns to Skaftafell are Kirkjubæjarklaustur, 69km to the west and Höfn, 130km to the east.
To get there by car, drive the main road #1 towards the east from Reykjavík. The drive takes approximately 4 hours. Turn into the Skaftafell visitor center and find us at the parking lot.

If you do not have a car you can always take the bus.
The quickest way to reach us by bus is by booking our
Vatnajökull Voyager Excursion, the trip takes about 4 1/2 hours and leaves at 07:00.
The schedule bus departs from Reykjavik bus-terminal BSÍ located in the center of Reykjavik and the ride is about 7 hours and 15min.
