Iceland’s and in fact Europe’s largest national park with its main attraction the Vatnajökull glacier certainly has a lot to offer when it comes to adventure and amazing views. This popular weekend package combines all of the most awesome activities, hikes and sights that we offer. A great value experience packed visit to the largest glacier outside the Polar Regions. You will hike on the amazing Fjallsjökull outlet glacier, sail on the Glacier Lagoon, stand on the peak of Kristínartindar Mountain, gaze upon the endless ice fields and Iceland’s highest peak and mountain bike on the black sand beaches.. and believe it or not, there is more!
Guaranteed departures: Every Friday starting at 7:00 AM from your accommodation in Reykjavík from the 10th of June – 31st of August. Make sure you book your spot on the tour with good notice.
Rough Itinerary: Friday: Early morning pick up from your accommodation in Reykjavík. Transfer to Skaftafell, glacier hiking on Virkisjökull glacier (
Glacier Wonders) and a boat ride on the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon.
Saturday: Mountain biking in the morning (Skaftafell on wheels), birdwatching/sightseeing on the Ingólfshöfði cape, and a transfer back to Reykjavík.

Price: 43.990 ISK per person Included: a transfer from Reykjavík to Skaftafell and back, lunch on day number one and activities.
Does not include flights, dinners or accommodation. We can book accommodation at the
Reykjavik Backpackers for your nights in Reykjavik.

Day 1/ Friday
We start bright and early by picking you up at your accommodation at 7:00. After ca. 4 hour drive to Skaftafell, arriving at noon we grab a lunch before heading out for an adventure on ice. We start by doing a 1 1/2 hour glacier walk on Virkisjökull glacier and afterwards we head out to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon to go for a boat ride amongst the amazing ice bergs and wildlife.
Day 2 / Saturday
We start the day at 9:00 with a mountain bike tour into the very beautiful Morsárdalur Valley and Bæjarstaðarskógur forrest. The forrest is one of the oldest birch forrest in Iceland and there we eat our lunch before heading back to Skaftafell where we hop onto one of the famous hey carts that will take us to Ingólfshöfði cape where we will explore the cliffs and see the puffins, skuas and sterns that are there.
Please note: the Ingólfshöfði cape is only available until the 8th of August. If you book this tour after the 8th of August you will do the glacier hiking, the boat ride on the glacier lagoon and the bike tour.
Schedule:
Friday: 7:00 pick up from your accommodation in Reykjavík.
Saturday: 9:00 mountain biking, sightseeing/birdwatching and a transfer back to Reykjavík.
