Langjokull Snowmobile Tour
Meet us at Langjokull Base Camp where your guide awaits. It takes approximately 2.5 hours to reach Langjokul from Reykjavik, but make sure you leave enough time for your drive. Road conditions in Iceland can be tricky.
Once everyone is gathered, an expert guide will provide you with all the necessary snowmobile gear. If you don’t have any previous experience riding a snowmobile, that’s alright. It only takes a few minutes to learn how to operate the vehicle. Just don’t forget to bring a valid driver’s license!
After a safety briefing, it’s time to conquer the glacier! Take a deep breath of crisp Icelandic air and speed through vast stretches of icy wilderness. As you zoom over Iceland’s second-largest ice cap, enjoy snowscapes that look like they belong in fairy tales.
Untamed, pristine, and bursting with endless opportunities, Langjokull Glacier is a premier snowmobile destination. The giant ice cap stands high above the surrounding Icelandic countryside. “The Long Glacier” rises up 4,760 ft (1,450 m) above sea level revealing rare vistas of the surrounding mountains. Nowhere else can you get such amazing panoramic views on such a quick, exciting trip!
Please note: The road from Gullfoss Waterfall to Langjokull Base Camp is a mountain road, meaning it’s not paved and requires a four-wheel-drive vehicle. Check with your car rental to make sure your car is allowed to drive mountain roads.
If you are unable to meet us at our base camp, take a look at our other snowmobile tours which include transportation from Reykjavik or Gullfoss.
