The price of the tour is for one person when sharing a snowmobile between two people. If you’re traveling solo or with an odd number of travelers, you must book a solo snowmobile for an additional fee.
If you’re traveling solo but don’t have a valid driving license, you can book a guide to drive your snowmobile for an extra fee.

Tour Description
Experience the sheer power of Eyjafjallajokull Glacier as you snowmobile across its surface! This stunning glacier is famous for the volcano that lies beneath. In 2010, Eyjafjallajökull Volcano erupted and put a stop to air traffic for weeks. Get your adrenaline pumping as you ride over the volcano. You’ll understand why Iceland is called the land of fire and ice!
Your adventure begins at our base camp in the glacier’s foothills. There, our expert snowmobile guides will give you everything you need for a safe and exciting journey. Don’t worry if you’ve never been snowmobiling before — our guides will teach you everything you need to know.
From there we’ll jump in our van and drive to the base of Eyjafjallajokull Glacier. Before we get on our snowmobiles, we’ll take a moment to admire the landscapes all around us. As you peer across the pristine snow, you’ll see fascinating ice sculptures and rock formations. The rocky area around the glacier looks like it’s from another planet!
Then it’s time to embark on your snowmobile journey. The views at the beginning our ride will leave you speechless. Eyjafjallajokull Glacier is enormous, shooting up 5,427 feet (1,654 meters) in the air and filling up 39 square miles (101 square km) total. White snow stretches as far as the eye can see.
As we rev our engines and ride up the glacier, we’ll be treated to magical views of the South Coast. Look around to see active volcanoes, towering mountains, and endless lava fields. Towards the southern shore, you’ll see the Atlantic Ocean flow into the horizon.
Our snowmobile guides are also experts on Iceland’s geography and history. During the ride, they’ll tell you about how the glacier and volcano were formed and their role in Icelandic myths. You’ll also learn more about the historic eruptions of Eyjafjallajökull and why the ash cloud from the 2010 eruption was such a big deal!
We’ll snowmobile for about an hour and then take time to snap photos of the amazing glacier scenery.Then we’ll hop in the van and head back to our base camp. Back at camp, you’ll be rewarded for your ice adventure with tasty warm drinks and snacks.
